Finally, exams are over and it's time for blogging! Wow, I can't believe what had been in my stomach during these pre-exam time. What's your comfort food during studying? Junk food, chocolate and caffeine are on the list for me! :)

Sushi is good too ...

And I recommend Kotobuki in Kangaroo Point. Seriously, you won't notice this place except for the long queue. I've been to this place twice and it's always good! 

First time with SaC and we tried:

Lion King - Seared salmon with crab stick, cucumber, avocado
This is my favourite so far and I've been ordering this on both occasions.

We ventured and tried their Kotobuki Roll. What's so special about this dish? They are like 'tempura sushi',  each individual piece is fried in tempura batter. It certainly is an eye-opener!

Next, the Spider Roll is on the table:

Spider Roll- Soft shell crab, cucumber, lobster salad dressed with spicy mayo


Besides sushi, we tried their rice and noodle dishes:
Top: Pork Oyako Don
Bottom: Noodle dish (can't remember it's name!)
Second time around I managed to try:

Chicken Teriyaki noodle

I like their teriyaki noodle too! *slurps*

Ruby Roll: 

Ruby Roll- Fresh tuna with avocado, cream cheese and Japanese chili seasoning

Conclusion: 
Kotobuki's sushi is fresh and good. Have I said that they are cheap too?

Tibetan Kitchen, West End Finally, I have the time to catch up on blogging! Yay! After a sweaty and tired workout in Urban Climb for an indoor rock-climbing (more than a month ago!) , the five of us made our way to Tibetan Kitchen for a late dinner. It was a Friday night and there was people bustling around Trang and its neighbour, Tibetan Kitchen. Haven't had the taste or any clues about Tibetan food, we were lucky because one of our company had spent his time in Tibet for a month. He did warned us beforehand that the food here wasn't as authentic as the food in Tibet though.  Anyway, after much contemplation, we ordered: Pakhora Onion Baje - 6.90 Crispy fried onion patties served with yoghurt & cucumber sauce The pakhora was all right. It could be better with more onions maybe? Newmarket Hotel

  Newmarket Hotel, Newmarket  Newmarket Hotel has been on our regular place to visit as it is quite a family friendly restaurant; and obviously quite close to home. It can get quite busy at times but as we usually dine when restaurants open (5 or 5.30pm) so it was not too bad. Parking is ample with the complex's undercover parking. What I love about Newmarket hotel is that they do have kid's meal and Grace always enjoy their chicken tenders. Yay! The kid's meal come with a drink (and the drink container can be brought home) and ice cream for dessert. No photo for her meal but we ordered it with steamed vegetables. If you are a seafood lover, give their calamari a go! They are beautifully crumbed and cooked just right. This is an entree size but you can upgrade to the main size. I tried their fish - special of the day; barramundi with some crispy pumpkin/potatoes and the 'sauce'. Honestly, I did not expect it, as this was more like a gravy sauce dish. The portion was

Milk Cafe, Ashgrove

  Milk Cafe, Ashgrove Throwback to late last year when we visited Milk Cafe in Ashgrove. It is just adjacent to Woolworths Ashgrove and you will not miss it. Plenty of parking is available in the complex. Famous for its milkshake, we did not order any as we get quite apprehensive when the kids are so high in sugar 😅. I could not remember the exact dish we had that day but the first dish was poached eggs with bacon, and cripsy potatoes with addition of haloumi. Little M dislikes cheese but she will gobble up the haloumi in no time. We had the pancakes as well and they were fluffy and soft. The girls thankfully enjoyed them, as sometimes they can be picky with their food.  The indoor setting is reasonably large and there is outdoor setting as well. Bonus--> it is part of the Entertainment book's voucher. But ya, we will be back one day.  Breakfast at Milk Cafe
