Little Brew, Paddington
Little Brew was on my wish list ever since I have driven past it a couple of times and knowing it is the sister branch of Brew, I want to give it a try. Miss JaW came back to Brisbane for a short holiday after she decided to return to Perth end of last year. Together with Lainey and her husband, we visited Little Brew for brunch.

It was cold and windy that day but Little Brew provided some soft blanket to those who sat outdoors. What a nice touch!

Their menu is quite short and simple. I was tossing between the rosti and the corn fritters, but I finally went ahead with the latter. Drinks came by shortly after ordering.

Chai Tea

I decided to try their brewed chai tea and I was quite disappointed. There was no honey served and the flavour was quite diluted. The others had coffee and JaW commented that her's was burnt. 

It took very long before our meals arrived. Maybe 30-45 minutes? Were the meals worth the wait?

Smoked salmon, sweet potato rosti - $18.50
with horseradsih cream, baby beetroot, rocket, sesame and poached egg


Ultimate bacon and egg sandwich - $14.50
with bulldog sauce and fried egg

Mexican corn fritters - $17.50
with goats cheese, poached egg, rocket and grilled chorizo

JaW and Lainey both had the sweet potato rosti while the man had the bacon and egg sandwich. I tried some of the rosti and they were all right. Quite crunchy and sweet. The corn fritters are more pancake-like instead of the cripsy type of fritters. The flavours were not too bad and I do wish for some kind of relish to accompany it. 

Hmm...Worth the wait? Probably not. We left Little Brew quite disappointed and went to the French Festival for more coffee...

Tibetan Kitchen, West End Finally, I have the time to catch up on blogging! Yay! After a sweaty and tired workout in Urban Climb for an indoor rock-climbing (more than a month ago!) , the five of us made our way to Tibetan Kitchen for a late dinner. It was a Friday night and there was people bustling around Trang and its neighbour, Tibetan Kitchen. Haven't had the taste or any clues about Tibetan food, we were lucky because one of our company had spent his time in Tibet for a month. He did warned us beforehand that the food here wasn't as authentic as the food in Tibet though.  Anyway, after much contemplation, we ordered: Pakhora Onion Baje - 6.90 Crispy fried onion patties served with yoghurt & cucumber sauce The pakhora was all right. It could be better with more onions maybe? Newmarket Hotel

  Newmarket Hotel, Newmarket  Newmarket Hotel has been on our regular place to visit as it is quite a family friendly restaurant; and obviously quite close to home. It can get quite busy at times but as we usually dine when restaurants open (5 or 5.30pm) so it was not too bad. Parking is ample with the complex's undercover parking. What I love about Newmarket hotel is that they do have kid's meal and Grace always enjoy their chicken tenders. Yay! The kid's meal come with a drink (and the drink container can be brought home) and ice cream for dessert. No photo for her meal but we ordered it with steamed vegetables. If you are a seafood lover, give their calamari a go! They are beautifully crumbed and cooked just right. This is an entree size but you can upgrade to the main size. I tried their fish - special of the day; barramundi with some crispy pumpkin/potatoes and the 'sauce'. Honestly, I did not expect it, as this was more like a gravy sauce dish. The portion was

Milk Cafe, Ashgrove

  Milk Cafe, Ashgrove Throwback to late last year when we visited Milk Cafe in Ashgrove. It is just adjacent to Woolworths Ashgrove and you will not miss it. Plenty of parking is available in the complex. Famous for its milkshake, we did not order any as we get quite apprehensive when the kids are so high in sugar 😅. I could not remember the exact dish we had that day but the first dish was poached eggs with bacon, and cripsy potatoes with addition of haloumi. Little M dislikes cheese but she will gobble up the haloumi in no time. We had the pancakes as well and they were fluffy and soft. The girls thankfully enjoyed them, as sometimes they can be picky with their food.  The indoor setting is reasonably large and there is outdoor setting as well. Bonus--> it is part of the Entertainment book's voucher. But ya, we will be back one day.  Breakfast at Milk Cafe
